Dance is more than movement—it is the language of expression, discipline, and artistry. At BBharts Conservatory, our dance program is designed to cultivate technical excellence, creativity, and confidence in each student. Through a structured curriculum and mentorship by industry professionals, students will develop strong foundations in various dance styles while gaining the performance experience necessary for success in the performing arts.
Elizabeth Nuevo
Meet the Dean of Dance

Elizabeth Acuña-Nuevo is a distinguished figure in the dance community, renowned for her dedication to dance education and performance. She is the founder and director of the Artistic Dance Center in Doral, Florida, established in 2003. Under her leadership, the center has been recognized as an "Outstanding School" at the American Dance Competition from 2008 to 2012. Elizabeth also serves as the director of the Artistic Dance Theater, a non-profit dance company affiliated with the center. ​
In addition to her work at the Artistic Dance Center, Elizabeth has held the position of Head Coach and Dance Program Director at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy. In this role, she led her team to a National Championship title in 2025.

Elizabeth's teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of hard work, dedication, discipline, and commitment. She strives to instill in her students that ballet and dance are not merely about competitions but are profound art forms. Her approach combines traditional teaching methods with contemporary techniques, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive and evolving dance education.

Throughout her extensive teaching career, Elizabeth has witnessed many of her students achieve success in various fields, including becoming teachers, lawyers, dancers, doctors, nurses, and mothers. She attributes part of their accomplishments to the discipline and experiences they gained through dance.

Balancing her passion for teaching with the administrative responsibilities of running a studio, Elizabeth has successfully created an environment where both students and staff feel like family. Her commitment to maintaining high standards and quality in dance education has made her a respected and influential figure in the dance community.
Dance Curriculum by Grade Level
Lower Division (Grades 3-5) – Foundation & Exploration
Students begin with a focus on fundamental techniques, musicality, and movement exploration. Training includes:

Basic rhythm, coordination, and body awareness

Introduction to choreography and creative movement

At this level, dance is about developing confidence, discipline, and the joy of movement.

Middle Division (Grades 6-8) – Strength & Technique
As students progress, they refine their technical abilities while exploring deeper artistry. This level focuses on:

Ballet barre, center work, and across-the-floor technique

Jazz, contemporary, and commercial dance styles

Strength training, flexibility, and injury prevention

Partnering, musicality, and improvisation

Students in this division begin preparing for performances and competitions, learning to translate technical ability into artistry.

Upper Division (Grades 9-12) – Pre-Professional Training
The high school division offers intensive training for dancers aiming for collegiate programs and professional careers. Students receive:

Choreographic composition and industry preparation
